    Redeeming points

    Travel Inconvenience Insurance18 provides reimbursement, for up to $1,700, for refreshments, accommodation and essential clothing due to a delayed or cancelled flight, missed connections, luggage delay or lost luggage when the scheduled Common Carrier travel ticket has been charged to your Qantas Corporate Platinum Card.


    When you carry the Qantas Corporate Platinum Card, you can travel more comfortably knowing you can be covered in case of an accident.

    Our complimentary Business Travel Accident Insurance18 provides accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage when you charge your Common Carrier ticket to your Qantas Corporate Platinum Card.

    Eligible Card Members can receive up to $400,000 of 24-hour coverage for business and personal trips for up to 30 days while boarding, travelling on, and exiting a Common Carrier. This coverage is provided at no additional fee.

Your Choice of Qantas Privileges:

1. Qantas Domestic Economy Return Flight: A choice of one Domestic Economy class return flight is available for Card Members, or an individual nominated by the Card Member to redeem, on the terms and conditions set out below, and in accordance with Qantas’ Conditions of Carriage (which apply to all Qantas passengers). The benefit is available to choose each 12 month period that the Card Member maintains a card relationship with American Express (each a “Membership Year”) and must be redeemed before the end of the relevant Membership Year. The flight must be booked and ticketed before the end of the Membership Year in which the Card Member became entitled to the domestic flight. Redemption of the domestic flight cannot be carried forward to any subsequent Membership Year and cannot be exchanged for cash. Reservations must be made through the American Express Platinum Travel Service by calling 1800 621 524 and selecting option 1. Qantas and American Express reserve the right to change the domestic flight offer terms and conditions or the offer of flights from time to time without notice, including but not limited to the right to charge fees or to stop offering flights. Route availability is subject to change without notice. Availability of these seats is limited and seats may not be available on all flights or at the times you may wish to fly. Seat availability may be limited to certain dates and/or flights and it may be more difficult to book seats around public holidays, school holidays or special events. Only specified routes are included within the offer. All travel is subject to the Domestic Flight Offer Conditions, Qantas Fare Conditions and Qantas Conditions of Carriage. No Qantas Frequent Flyer points will be awarded for travel on these flights. Domestic Flight Routes available set out in Table 1.

Booking Changes and Cancellations:
a. Changes and cancellations are permitted prior to each flight departure, The Card Member is to pay any extra fare difference and any extra taxes by calling 1800 621 524 and selecting option 1
b. Name changes are permitted
c. The new booking must be for travel within 12 months of the date that the original ticket was issued;
d. Changes must be made through the American Express Platinum Travel Service by calling 1800 621 524 and selecting option 1
e. At the time of making the change, the Card Member must pay: Applicable change fees as per the Qantas Fare Conditions; Any fare difference between the fare for the new booking and the original fare; Any other applicable surcharges, fees and taxes plus applicable GST as charged by American Express.
f. Validity: Minimum stay is not applicable. Maximum stay is up to one year;
g. Children/Infants: Flights may not be redeemed for unaccompanied minors. Infants (under 2 years) without a seat may travel free of charge when travelling with an eligible Card Member.
h. The Domestic Flight is only available on Qantas marketed and operated services. For the avoidance of doubt, flights on Jetstar Airways Pty Limited and codeshare services are not included.

2. Qantas Club Membership: A choice of one Qantas Club membership is available for Qantas Corporate Platinum Card® Members, or an individual nominated by the Card Member in accordance with the terms and conditions set out below each Membership Year and must be redeemed before the end of the Membership Year in which the Card Member became entitled. Qantas Club membership is subject to the Qantas Club Membership Terms and Conditions, available at Subject to Qantas Club, partner airlines and associated lounges conditions of entry. 3. International American Express Lounges: American Express Qantas Platinum Card Members are entitled to a total of two entries into The American Express Lounges per calendar year (1st January to 31st December). Guest access policies vary by location and are subject to change. To access American Express Lounges, the Platinum Card Member must present the agent with the following upon each visit: his or her valid Card and upon request, same-day airline ticket on any carrier and a government-issued I.D. Failure to present this documentation may result in access being denied. Platinum Card Members will not be compensated for changes in locations, rates or policies. American Express reserves the right to remove any person from a lounge for inappropriate behaviour or failure to adhere to lounge rules, including, but not limited to, conduct that is disruptive, abusive or violent. Access is subject to space availability. Amenities, services and hours of operation may vary among locations and are subject to change. Platinum Card Member must be at least 18 years of age to enter without a parent or guardian. Platinum Card Member must be 21 years of age to enter a lounge with a self-service bar, unless you are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. American Express will not be liable for any articles lost or stolen or damages suffered by the purchaser or visitor inside American Express Lounges. Use of American Express Lounges is subject to all rules and conditions set by American Express. American Express reserves the right to revise the rules at any time without notice.

4. Fine Hotels & Resorts: *Average value based on Fine Hotels & Resorts bookings in 2016 for stays of two nights. Actual value will vary based on property, room rate, upgrade availability, and use of benefits

Valid only for new Fine Hotels & Resorts bookings made through Platinum Travel Service or American Express Travel Online. Payment must be made in full with an American Express Card in the Platinum Card Member’s name. The credit will be issued on the Platinum Card Member’s final statement upon check-out. Benefit restrictions vary by Fine Hotels & Resorts property and cannot be redeemed for cash, and may not be combined with other offers unless indicated. Advance reservations are recommended for services such as spa, dining or golf in order to take advantage of the Fine Hotels & Resorts special amenity during your stay. Benefits are only applied at checkout and expire at checkout. Limit one benefit package per room, per stay. Three room limit per Platinum Card Member, per stay; back-to-back stays within a 24-hour period at the same property are considered one stay. Participating Fine Hotels & Resorts properties and benefits are subject to change.

5. Avis: Enrolment in the Avis Preferred program is required to receive benefits. Benefits are subject to change. All Avis Preferred Terms and Conditions apply. American Express reserves the right to instruct Avis to cancel your membership if you cease to be a Platinum Card Member or if your Account is not in good standing.

6. Hertz: Benefits vary by market and location of rental, and may be subject to availability. Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® enrolment is required to enjoy all benefits. Terms and Conditions apply. American Express reserves the right to instruct Hertz to cancel your membership if you cease to be a Qantas Corporate Platinum Card Member or your account is not in good standing. 7. Emergency Global Assist: You must arrange all medical and visitor transportation. As the Global Assist Hotline is an assistance service, we cannot reimburse you for expenses you incur on your own. Please refer to the Global Assist Summary of Coverage for additional details and restrictions. Only available when you travel more than 200km from your home, for up to 90 consecutive days.

8. AFR: The subscription cannot be replaced with an alternative Fairfax product. The subscription cannot be exchanged for cash or credit. The subscription is subject to Fairfax terms and conditions

9. Platinum Concierge Services: There is typically no cost to you for most efforts Concierge consultants perform on your behalf, although you are responsible for any purchases and/or shipping charges you authorise. Fees may apply for meetings and event planning. We reserve the right to note profile and preference data for servicing purposes.

10. Same Day Fine Dining Reservations: Conditions apply. Restaurant partners are subject to change without notice. All bookings must be made through Platinum Concierge. Table size is based on settings of between 2-4 persons. Account must be settled with an American Express Corporate Platinum Card. Reservations are based on a first-come, first-served basis. In the event of a reservation cancellation, the Card Member will be subject to the restaurant’s cancellation policy, which will be communicated to the Card Member by Concierge at the time of booking.

11. Taste from American Express Invites: benefit will be open for all American Express Card Members to use and is valid until 31 May, 2016, unless otherwise noted. This benefit is only redeemable when paid for with an American Express branded card. The benefit is fulfilled by making reservation bookings directly with the restaurant in the American Express Corporate Platinum Card Member’s name and is subject to table availability. American Express Card Members can either call or walk in to the restaurant to check availability and book. Platinum Card Members have to identify themselves as an American Express Card Member at the time of booking or before ordering to receive the benefits on the dining day. The benefit is valid for seated dining only and cannot be combined with any other benefit. Each restaurant offers one of the following special offers as stated in their offer details and this is not negotiable: a complimentary appetizer from the a la carte menu (up to ten guests) or a complimentary dessert (up to ten guests) or a complimentary bottle of wine (per table) or a discount of 20% on food purchases (up to ten guests) and will be provided by the participating restaurants in accordance with the provisions set out here. The special offer is non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash. Complimentary dessert selection may be limited by the restaurant at its discretion and will only be valid when an item of equal or greater value is purchased. Complimentary appetizer selection may be limited by the restaurant at its discretion and will only be valid when a main course and a dessert are purchased.
The complimentary bottle of wine is selected by the restaurant and cannot be taken away or consumed off premises. The complimentary bottle of wine will only be valid when a main course is purchased. Exclusions may apply. The benefits are limited to one redemption per visit, per American Express Card, per bill, per table, unless otherwise stated; a restaurant may cap benefit availability to 10 guests per booking at its discretion. The benefit is available for lunch or dinner on any day of the week, unless otherwise noted. Blackout dates apply, please check with individual restaurants when booking. 12. American Express Invites Lounge: Entry is subject to capacity and granted on a first come first serve basis. Card Members must show their American Express Card to gain entry. Corporate Platinum Card Members may invite a maximum of 5 additional guests. Food & beverages are available for purchase within the lounge.

13. Minimum of $15 must be spent in a single transaction to be eligible for a complimentary bottle of water.

14. Membership Rewards Spirit program for Employees: Subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Membership Rewards program available here. You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member to earn and redeem Qantas Points. The redemption of Qantas Points is subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program Terms and Conditions available at A joining fee may apply. We recommend you consult your accountant or tax adviser to ensure you understand possible tax implications, for example fringe benefits tax (if applicable). Merchants classified as "government" include the Australian Taxation Office, the Australian Postal Corporation, Federal/State and Local government bodies. 15. A business must be a Qantas Business Rewards Member to earn Qantas Points. In order to transfer Qantas Points from a Qantas Business Rewards account to an individual’s Qantas Frequent Flyer account, the business account must have a balance of at least 3,000 Qantas Points. You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member to earn and redeem Qantas Points. A joining fee may apply. Membership and Qantas Points are subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program Terms and Conditions. We recommend you consult your accountant or tax adviser to ensure you understand possible tax implications, for example fringe benefits tax (if applicable).

16. Membership Rewards Shop with Points: Subject to the Terms and Conditions of the American Express Membership Rewards program available at and the David Jones Terms and Conditions available at DAVIDJONES.COM.AU. Only American Express Cards issued by American Express Australia Limited are eligible provided they are enrolled in the Membership Rewards program. Excludes Supplementary Card Members. Minimum redemption amounts apply. If redeeming with Points + Pay, the 'pay' component of your purchase will be automatically billed to your American Express Card Account and will appear on the first billing statement following redemption. You’ll earn Membership Rewards points on the ‘pay’ component of your purchase only.

17. Online Account Access: Corporate Card accounts are eligible to enrol for online services. Centrally Billed Accounts, where charges on all Card accounts are billed to the Company instead of the individual Card Members, may be excluded.
