  1. The International Airline Program (the “Program”) offers a complimentary or discounted companion ticket, complimentary upgrade, special class fare or discounted fare on participating airlines to holders of an eligible basic American Express Cards (“Eligible Cards”) as described in this Welcome Brochure or are otherwise identified to you by American Express (“Eligible Cardmember”). In order to take advantage of the Program, the Eligible Cardmember’s account must be active (meaning not cancelled).
  2. Canadian Platinum Lounge Benefit – Holders of eligible American Express Cards (“Eligible Cardmembers”) may access participating Canadian and International airport lounges (“Participating Lounges”) on a complimentary basis. Participating Lounges may change from time to time. For a complete listing visit americanexpress.ca/platinumlounges. To access a Participating Lounge, Eligible Cardmember must show a valid, unexpired eligible American Express Card, airline ticket for travel on the same day and government-issued photo identification in the name of the Eligible Cardmember. Eligible Cardmember’s spouse and 2 children under the age of 21, or one travel companion, may enter a participating lounge as complimentary guests. Guest must accompany eligible Cardmember; show a valid airline ticket for travel on the same day and government-issued photo identification to access a participating lounge. International Plaza Premium Lounges, maximum of 2 hour stay. Québec City’s Jean Lesage International Airport VIP Lounge, eligible Cardmember’s children must be under the age of 18. House rules, terms and conditions of Participating Lounges apply. Use of Participating Lounges is subject to availability. Unless otherwise stated, Participating Lounge access cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or benefit and is subject to change or cancellation at any time.
    • Priority Pass - Business Platinum Basic and Platinum Supplementary Cardmember(s) (“Cardmember”) may apply for a Priority Pass membership (“PP membership”). PP membership is subject to approval by Priority Pass Limited (“PPL”) and is not guaranteed. Unless cancelled, PP membership automatically renews on its anniversary date. PP membership may be cancelled by American Express if: (i) the Priority Pass benefit associated with the Business Platinum Card is changed or terminated, or (ii) the Cardmember’s Business Platinum Card is cancelled. PP membership includes access to any airport lounge participating in the Priority Pass Program. Participating lounges are owned and operated by independent third parties and their participation and/or facilities can change from time to time. To access a lounge, the Cardmember will need to show his/her valid Priority Pass card and an airline ticket for travel on the same day for the Cardmember and each of his/her guests. At their sole discretion, participating lounges may restrict entry of persons under 21 years old; please check restriction details for the individual lounges at www.prioritypass.com or your Priority Pass Directory provided by PPL. All Priority Pass lounge visits are subject to a fee of $27 US per person per visit. This fee applies to the Cardmember and his/her guests. Lounge access charges can be billed by PPL to the Business Platinum Card connected to the Cardmember’s PP membership upon PP’s receipt of notification from the lounge visited. Any US dollar charges to the card will be converted to CDN dollars using a conversion rate and applying a conversion commission as specified in the Cardmember Agreement and Disclosure Statement. All Cardmembers are also subject to PPL’s terms and conditions for the Priority Pass Program and the individual lounge operators’ terms of use for the participating lounges visited.     • The CenturionSM Lounge and The Centurion Studio - Business Platinum Cardmembers have unlimited complimentary access to The CenturionSM Lounge locations. Gold Card and Green Card Additional Cards on your account are not eligible for unlimited complimentary access. Business Platinum Cardmembers may bring immediate family (spouse or domestic partner and their children under 18) OR up to two (2) companions into The Centurion Lounge. For the Centurion Studio, Business Platinum Cardmembers may bring immediate family (spouse or domestic partner and their children under 18) OR 1 companion. To access The Centurion Lounge, the Business Platinum Cardmember must present The Centurion Lounge agent with the following upon each visit: his or her valid Card and upon request, same-day airline ticket on any carrier and a government-issued I.D. Failure to present this documentation may result in access being denied. Business Platinum Cardmembers will not be compensated for changes in locations, rates or policies. Business Platinum Cardmember must be at least 18 years of age to enter without a parent or guardian. Business Platinum Cardmember must be 21 years of age to enter a lounge with a self-service bar, unless you are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Business Platinum Cardmembers are allowed access to The Centurion Lounge in all U.S. locations. American Express reserves the right to remove any person from a lounge for inappropriate behavior or failure to adhere to lounge rules, including, but not limited to, conduct that is disruptive, abusive or violent. Access is subject to space availability. The Centurion Lounge hours may vary by location and are subject to change. Amenities may vary among The Centurion Lounge locations and are subject to change. In-lounge services and amenities are complimentary, however you are responsible for any purchases and/or servicing charges you authorize our Member Services Professionals to perform on your behalf. Some American Express® Cards are not eligible for all services provided by Member Services Desk. American Express will not be liable for any articles lost or stolen or damages suffered by the purchaser or visitor inside The Centurion Lounge. Use of The Centurion Lounge is subject to all rules and conditions set by American Express. American Express reserves the right to revise the rules at any time without notice.
    • Delta Sky Club – The Business Platinum Cardmember must present their Business Platinum Card, government-issued I.D. and same day corresponding airline ticket to club agents. The name on the ticket must match the name on the Business Platinum Card. Code-share and affiliated lounge agreements may not apply in all cases. Complimentary access is for the Business Platinum Basic and Supplementary Cardmember only and is specifically for the airport club that corresponds to the airline operating the flight (access pertains to the aircraft, not the flight number). Cardmembers may purchase guest passes for companions based on Delta Sky Club Rules. For the most up to date information about guest fees and lounge access, including what a lounge visit includes, visit delta.com/skyclub. The Business Platinum Cardmember must be 18 years of age to enter into the Airport Club Lounge without a parent or guardian where there is no self-service bar. Local age restrictions apply in non-U.S. locations. The Business Platinum Cardmember must be 21 years of age to enter into all Airport Club Lounges where there is a self-service bar. Cardmembers must adhere to all house rules of participating clubs. Participating airlines and locations are subject to change without notice.
  3. Car Rental Services. Hertz – Business Platinum Cardmembers must enroll directly with Hertz to receive Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Five Star Tier membership (“Membership”). Membership is subject to the terms, conditions and restrictions of Hertz which are subject to change without notice. CDP # 633306 must be quoted at time of any reservation. Cardmembers who enroll in the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Five Star Tier Club can receive a one-car class upgrade at participating locations at time of rental. The upgrade is subject to availability and change and is valid on rentals of Compact through Full Size Cars. American Express reserves the right to instruct Hertz to cancel your membership if you cease to be a Business Platinum Cardmember or your account is not in good standing. Benefits vary by market and location of rental, and may be subject to change and availability. Gold Plus Rewards® Five Star Tier membership enrolment is required to enjoy all benefits.   4. Concierge Services – From booking a conference room, making restaurant reservations, and a host of other personalized services, call your Business Platinum Concierge at 1-866-255-1815. Upon authorization by the Business Platinum Card member, Concierge uses its best efforts to source or arrange the purchase of requested goods or services from a supplier. There is no charge for using the services of Concierge, however the Cardmember will be responsible for paying the supplier for any purchases and/or shipping charges you authorize, as well as any other fees or related costs that may apply. Amex Bank of Canada cannot be responsible for the acts or omissions of suppliers, and cannot guarantee successful fulfillment of Cardmember requests in all instances.
  5. Starwood Preferred Guest – Enrollment in the Starwood Preferred Guest program is required. Benefits are subject to change. Terms and conditions of the Starwood Preferred Guest program apply. Amenities may not be combinable with FINE HOTELS & RESORTS benefits at FHR member hotels. For complete terms and conditions of the Starwood Preferred Guest program visit www.spg.com. Gold status enrollment is valid as long as you are a Business Platinum Cardmember in good standing.
  6. FINE HOTELS & RESORTS – Valid only for new FINE HOTELS & RESORTS (FH&R) bookings made through Platinum Card Travel Service or americanexpress.ca/travel (online bookings currently only available to Basic Platinum Cardmembers). Payment must be made with an American Express Card in the Canadian Business Platinum Cardmember’s name. Available for Canadian cardholders of The Business Platinum Card® from American Express. Business Platinum Cardmember must travel on the itinerary booked under FHR reservations to be eligible for benefits described. Limit of one (1) benefit package per room per stay. Benefit package can include Noon check-in, Room upgrade, Daily breakfast for two people, 4:00 pm late check-out, plus an additional special benefit. Noon check-in and room upgrade based on availability and provided at check-in. Certain room categories are not eligible for room upgrades. Call Platinum Card Travel Service for details. Breakfast varies by property but will be at minimum a continental breakfast. Additional special benefit varies by property, is subject to change, and cannot be redeemed for cash. FHR cannot be combined with other offers unless indicated. Benefit package expires at check-out. THE HOTEL COLLECTION from American Express –Valid at participating hotels for bookings of at least two consecutive nights, booked online through americanexpress.ca/travel (online bookings currently only available to Basic Business Platinum Cardmembers). Payment must be made in full with the Business Platinum Card from American Express Cardmember’s name at time of checkout. The Business Platinum Cardmember must travel on the itinerary booked. The Cardmember can receive a hotel credit upon checkout of up to $75 USD based on qualifying charges charged to the room excluding charges for cost of room, taxes, gratuities and fees. Varies by property and facilities available. The $75 USD credit is non-refundable and non-redeemable by the Eligible Cardmember for cash. Additional exclusions based on specific hotel restrictions may also apply (including without limitation, purchases within the hotel that are unaffiliated and/or owned by third parties) - see hotel front desk for details. Credit cannot be carried over to another stay and expires at check-out. Travel Accident Insurance provides automatic coverage of up to $500,000 of Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance when you fully charge your common carrier (plane, train, ship or bus) tickets to your Business Platinum Card. Use the Card to book tickets for your spouse, dependent children (under 23) or any Supplementary Cardmember and they will also be covered. Spouse and dependent children (under 23) of Supplementary Cardmembers are also covered.   13. Welcome Bonus – To qualify for a Welcome Bonus of 40,000 points you must have at least $5,000 in net purchases posted to your account in your first 3 months of Card membership. Account must be in good standing. This offer is not applicable to holders of an existing American Express Small Business Card product. When we stop offering the Welcome Bonus, we reserve the right to accept applications but you will not be eligible for the Welcome Bonus.
  14. Earn Rate – Earn 1.25 points for every $1.00 in eligible purchases charged to your Card. Account must be in good standing. Membership Rewards points will be earned by the Basic Card member on the amount of all purchases, less credits and adjustments. Interest charges, annual fees, other fees and charges for travellers cheques and foreign currencies are not purchases and do not qualify for Membership Rewards points.
  15. Fixed Points Travel Program – You can redeem a fixed number of points to cover the base ticket price of eligible flights up to the applicable maximum base ticket price. The base ticket price (often referred to by airlines as the base fare) excludes taxes, fees and carrier surcharges. You will be charged for these additional costs and any dollar amount that exceeds the applicable maximum base ticket price. The Fixed Points Travel Program applies to airfares offered through American Express Travel Services Canada or on americanexpress.ca/travel. When you redeem points for an eligible flight, the full cost of the flight, including taxes, fees and carrier surcharges will be charged to your Card upon booking. Within 5-10 business days from the date of booking, you will receive a statement credit for the base ticket price up to the applicable maximum base ticket price. If your statement monthly cycle cut date falls between the date the transaction is recorded on your statement and the date the statement credit is processed, you will be responsible for paying your monthly statement in full.   16. Use Points for Purchases – You can redeem Membership Rewards points for a statement credit towards an Eligible Purchase charged to an Eligible Card. You must redeem a minimum of 1,000 Points per redemption. Redemption rates may vary by Eligible Card. Statement credits on your Card Account should not exceed the aggregate amount of the Eligible Purchase(s) on your Eligible Card. You can register for online services to view your Eligible Purchases and to redeem online. Only Eligible Purchases posted to your Card Account during the last 3 months, up to 150 most recent Eligible Purchases will be displayed for redemption. If you wish to redeem points towards an Eligible Purchase within the last 12 months that is not displayed online, please contact us at the number listed on the back of your Card.
