A secure and flexible payment method

With your Corporate Card you have a secure and flexible payment method, all over the world. As a Cardmember you can enjoy various benefits, such as increased convenience and secure (online) payments. You are additionally insured during your business trips, if you pay for the trip with your Card. If you participate in the Membership Rewards programme, you also earn points with each expense.

Set Card Alerts

When you log in to your online account you can set your preferences for receiving Card Alerts by email or text message, if your company has opted for individual billing. This can help you keep a close eye on your expenses.

  • Weekly balance updates: including current outstanding balance and recent transactions.
  • Notice of payment of monthly statement: containing the balance amount and final payment due date. For payment by direct debit, this alert includes the date of the direct debit.

Online Services

Create an account for the Online Services to view your current balance, recent transactions and statements online. Or check your PIN securely online. Log in if you have already registered. Online Services is available in Dutch.

Mobile app

With our mobile app, you can view your current balance and recent transactions at any time. You can download the ‘Amex NL’ app for iPhone or Android.

Secured with chip and PIN

With the American Express Corporate Card, you always have a secure payment method. Your Card is equipped with a chip and a PIN. The PIN is required for transactions.

Forgotten your PIN? You can view it via the Online Services.

SafeKey® – for online transactions

SafeKey is easy to use. It is an additional security measure for online transactions and only applies to companies affiliated to SafeKey. You will automatically receive a one-time password via text message or email when you make purchases from these companies. If we have registered a mobile number or email address for you, you are automatically registered for SafeKey.

Express Cash*

If authorised by your Company, you can use Express Cash to withdraw cash at ATMs with the American Express logo worldwide. You can withdraw up to € 700 weekly in local currency, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the Netherlands you can use all ABN AMRO and Rabobank ATMs that carry our logo.


Contactless** payments without PIN

contactless paymentIs there a contactless payment symbol on your Corporate Card? If so, you can make contactless payments. After the first purchase with PIN, your new Card is activated for contactless payments. Simply touch your Card against the terminal to pay for your purchases (up to a maximum of €25).

Billing and settlement

The American Express Corporate Card programme includes various billing and settlement options. Please consult the American Express contact within your company for more details and the option chosen.

Individual Billing And Settlement

If your company has chosen individual payment, you will need to pay your monthly bill yourself using one of the two payment options below:

  1. Pay by direct debit
    If you pay your monthly statement by direct debit, the balance is automatically debited from the account number you have provided.
  2. Pay by bank transfer
    If you have not set up a direct debit, please pay the balance to the following bank account, stating your full account number.

Every month your Statement will be made available to you via the secure Online Services. You can submit declarations to your company in accordance with the existing procedures. You will be reimbursed by your company.


* Express Cash: Express Cash allows you to withdraw local currency 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A commission is charged depending on the method of payment. For payment by direct debit, the commission is 3.5%, and when paying via the card account the commission is 3.8% of the withdrawn amount, with a minimum of €4.50 per transaction. This commission will be calculated at the time of the transaction and will be added to the total amount of the transaction. For more information, please call us on 020 504 8700.

** Most American Express Cards are equipped with the technology for contactless exchange of data. To determine whether your Card supports contactless payment, you can check whether the contactless payment symbol is on your Card. Since the end of October 2017, the contactless payment functionality has been phased in for all new and replacement American Express Corporate Cards and Corporate Gold Cards.

Accepted worldwide

American Express is accepted worldwide by millions of (online) companies, so you can pay all your business expenses with your Corporate Card.

With your Card, you can pay at:

Petrol & car services: BP, Esso, Profile Tyrecenter, Shell, Total

Travel: easyJet, Emirates, KLM, NS, Transavia, Uber, Vueling

Restaurants: Alliance Restaurants, La Place, Les Jeunes Restaurateurs, Patrons Cuisiniers Nederland

Hotels: Crowne Plaza, Fletcher, Hampshire, Hilton, Marriott, Mercure, Radisson Blu

Retail: BCC, de Bijenkorf,,, Ikea, Jumbo, Media Markt

With our VICINITY search engine, you can easily check which hotels, restaurants, ATMs* and petrol stations accept American Express via your computer, tablet or smartphone.


Fraud protection

As a Cardmember you are fully protected in case of fraud or theft of the card, without any excess. We will keep you informed of unusual activities via text message and/or email. Safe and secure: you do not have to worry about possible fraud.

Has your Card been used without your permission or have you noticed that a transaction was unauthorised or processed incorrectly? Then call our Customer Service team directly via the number on the back of your Card.

Protection in the event of theft or loss

In case of theft or loss of your Corporate Card, please contact American Express immediately on +31 (0)20 504 8700 (Mon–Fri 8 am–8 pm; your call is transferred outside office hours). Our Customer Service team will arrange for a suitable solution or replacement Card for you soon, wherever possible within 24 hours.


Pay securely everywhere, including online.

With your Corporate Card you are fully protected in case of fraud or theft of the card, without any excess. In addition, you can withdraw cash at ATMs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (if Express Cash is activated on your Card). All your online transactions are additionally secured with SafeKey.

Individual spending limit

There is no fixed spending limit for your Card. However, a (total) limit can be set at company level. If you have any questions you can contact the American Express contact person within your company.

Worldwide service – rapid Card replacement

Our Customer Service team will quickly arrange, where possible within 24 hours, a replacement Card or other suitable solution for you, wherever in the world you are.

Additional business travel insurances

With the travel accident, travel inconvenience and baggage and personal possessions insurance, you are additionally insured during your business trips, if you pay for the business trip with the Card.

24/7 access to your account – via Online Services or mobile app

You have 24/7 access to your account worldwide via the:

  • Online Services – Check your current balance, view recent transactions, view your PIN and download statements at any time. Register to gain access or sign in if you already have an online account.
  • American Express App – View your monthly statement and recent transactions at a glance. You can download the ‘Amex NL’ app for iPhone or Android.

Membership Rewards® (optional)

The Membership Rewards programme is optional for the Corporate Card and your company must first approve participation. If your company approves participation in the Membership Rewards programme, you can call our Customer Service team to sign up.

There is an annual contribution of €25 to participate in the Membership Rewards programme . When you participate in the programme, you earn one point for each euro you spend with the Card.


Redeem points

You can redeem your points for various attractive rewards. You can pay for airline tickets, hotel stays, gifts, electronics or gift cards with your points, for example. It is also possible to transfer points to other loyalty programmes of airline and hotel partners (e.g. Flying Blue from KLM).



With the travel accident, travel inconvenience and baggage and personal possessions insurance, you are additionally insured during your business trips, if you pay for the business trip with the Corporate Card. Below is a brief overview.

Travel accidents

  • You are insured against the consequences of an accident 24 hours a day, for 30 days, up to an amount of €350,000.

Travel inconvenience

  • Has your luggage arrived too late (more than 6 hours)? Was your plane delayed by more than 4 hours? Have you missed your connection? As a Cardmember you are insured against travel inconveniences – such as a delayed flight (up to €175 per person per trip), a missed connection and delayed or lost baggage (up to €175 per person per journey) – on flights that have been paid for with your card. The maximum coverage is €1,050.
  • If your checked-in baggage has not arrived at the destination airport within 48 hours of arrival, you are covered by insurance for this (up to €875 per person per trip).
  • Any costs you incur for lost or delayed baggage on a flight(s) with which you return to your place of residence are not covered by this insurance.

Baggage and personal possessions

  • Cover for theft, loss or damage of luggage during business trips abroad, from the moment of departure to your return. Maximum total compensation of €5,000 per trip in addition to the travel inconvenience insurance.
  • Coverage applies for a maximum of €750 per separate item. The first €150 of each claim and each occurrence related to each insured person are at your own risk.
