Yes, you can obtain either foreign currency or sterling prior to leaving the UK. Foreign currency can be purchased on your American Express Corporate Card from various foreign exchange outlets, including Telegraphic Transfer (TT), American Express Foreign Exchange Services, and Travelex.

Can a Corporate Card be used as a telephone calling card?

Yes, if the telephone you are using accepts charge cards, such as BT cards, you can use your American Express Corporate Card to pay for the cost of the call in the normal way. The charges will appear on your statement.

What happens if my payment does not reach American Express in time?

American Express' standard terms include the right to impose a late payment charge for amounts that are 30 days overdue. American Express may temporarily suspend your Card if there is an outstanding balance over 30 days old. This should be lifted once payment has been received. If balances are still outstanding at 90 days your American Express Card will be cancelled. If you are sending a cheque to American Express, please allow 5 days for mailing and entry into the payment system.
