The GBTA Business Traveler Sentiment Index™, in partnership with American Express, is on the decline since the report debuted in May, 2015. Despite frustrations with airport security and trip related expenses, business travelers continue to believe that work trips help them to achieve their company and personal goals. Notably, 83% of business travelers express satisfaction with their ability to meet their trip goals when on the road for work. Other findings include:

  • Close to two-thirds of business travelers believe airline passengers should be allowed to use mobile devices for Internet-based apps on flights, but not for making onboard calls.

  • Millennials and women are more likely to say that social media improves their ability to connect with people and look up reviews of travel vendors when they are on the road.
