The Middle Market Power Index: Fueling The Nation’s Economic Growth from American Express and Dun & Bradstreet examines the outsized influence of middle market companies, and the growth they have experienced over the past five years. While comprising just 1% of all commercially active firms, these companies contribute one in four dollars of all business revenues and employ one in four workers in the U.S. The number of middle market firms in the country has nearly doubled since 2011, and their revenues and employment have doubled as well.
